everybody is talking about AI but why should AI matter to us imagine a future where Ai and hanses both are work and quality of life AI has been attracting widespread attention especially with game changers like chat GPT sparking significant interest however AI isn't entirely new is it back in 2019 Singapore introduced our first national AI strategy where we explored using AI across various sectors like healthc care transport and government services as AI progresses and evolves so do we that's why we've introduced the refreshed National AI strategy 2. 0 and shared our plans to invest over 1 billion into AI compute talent and Industry development to advance ourselves in the world of AI nais 2.

0 outlines 50 actions Singapore will undertake across three systems and 10 enablers let's begin with industry we will set up new centers of excellence in companies to deepen Innovation think new products and services Beyond optimizing operations this goes hand inand with our other efforts to strengthen the AI startup ecosystem to Spur experimentation and new business creation not only that we plan to encourage AI adoption within the public sector which enables our government agencies to deliver Public Services more efficiently and effectively to our citizens and businesses with the help of a strong academic and research Community our national R&D plans will also be refreshed to deepen our capabilities in AI research we aim to attract the world's leading AI talent to collaborate with us and skill up training programs to create opportunities for our people and boost our AI talent pool not to mention we will have the tools and support systems in place to help our businesses adopt AI we will work towards equipping our Workforce for an AI powered future Guided by our industry transformation map new capabilities New Opportunities speaking of opportunities we will bring the AI Community together to connect and Thrive we will increase access to high performance compute and build capabilities and data services and privacy enhancing Technologies we will also work to ensure the availability of highquality data sets to support AI development we know ai's Limitless potential demands responsible use so we will work towards creating an Innovative yet safe trusted environment where security and resilience for everyone using AI systems will be a priority AI is a technology without a passport we aspire to be a reliable Global partner in thought and action growing our Network and establishing key bilateral relationships on the global stage but these 15 actions are not all there is to it nais 2.
