AISG Research Collaborative Project with US-NSF Researchers

An AI Singapore–supported international research collaboration led by Professor Jie Zhang (NTU) together with MIT (including Associate Professor Jacob Andreas), focused on trustworthy and interpretable human-AI collaborative systems for combinatorial optimization.

The project establishes natural language as a robust interface for combinatorial optimization, letting AI systems formulate problems from imprecise human input, perform AI-assisted solving, and return explainable feedback—advancing the foundations of trustworthy AI and human-AI collaboration.

As an AI Singapore–led collaboration anchored at a Singapore university (NTU), the project plugs Singapore’s fundamental AI research into a network of top global institutions, with outcomes aimed at logistics, manufacturing, and finance—sectors central to Singapore’s economy.
